Howdy Storytellers 🤠!
Recently, we shut down all experiments and feature development (we were working on launching teasers and trailers for films, a conversational AI screenwriting experience, and more) to hunker down on one incredibly essential goal.
We’ve raised the bar and made it possible to get quality films out of the Movie Machine.
Now, we have to make it 10x easier to use the Movie Machine.
I’ll be candid with you – the Movie Machine needs to be a lot simpler and more intuitive to use.
We are so grateful for all of you who have joined the Movie Machine during our beta.
We have learned a few incredibly exciting things:
Lots of people want to use the Movie Machine to turn their stories and ideas into films (movies, shows, trailers, and more). We are so grateful!
People can make films from the Movie Machine that are received positively by viewers — with consistent settings, characters, voices, and more. Here’s an example of a proof of concept one of our Movie Machine creators made.
But we have also learned something else: it’s just not that easy to use the Movie Machine.
Recently we have had a few instances where someone has their spent time and hard earned money to produce a film that was frankly, not that great.
Upon looking at their project, I noticed all the things they overlooked about their start frames and storyboard that could have been changed by them and created a quality film.
Unfortunately, they learned their lesson the hard way and ended up spending hard earned money and time getting a final output they were not happy with.
One philosophy would be: “sorry, it’s on them. They just don’t know AI filmmaking well enough. Not everyone is going to be happy with what they create using any tool, that’s the cost of doing business.”
That mindset is everything we are AGAINST.
We made Creatorwood to democratize filmmaking to everyone who has a story idea and allow anyone to build a business selling films directly to viewers. In short, to create a future where Storytellers Rule the World.
Yeah, we made it possible to turn your story into a movie (remarkable). Yeah, we made it 1,000x cheaper and faster.
But it needs to be so dead simple that anyone can do it.
Regardless of your background. Regardless of your experience. Regardless of whether you are “good” or ”bad” at using computers.
And this isn’t just folks using the platform as hobbyists or in their spare time.
We noticed the same problem with our internal team of trained AI filmmakers using the Movie Machine.
Things slowing them down, things taking longer than they should. It became obvious after a detailed time study that this wasn’t a personnel or process problem. We have to make the movie machine way easier to use.
And after completing a ton of VIP Production projects while we had our VIP Production Service in beta (it’s now out of beta with updated pricing), we have enough data and insights to know exactly what improvements we need to make to the Movie Machine.
We are in code red fixing this. I will barely sleep until we make remarkable, mind blowing improvements here. And we will be rolling out some wild experiments to make the Movie Machine much much simpler and easier to use:
How can we build an incredible onboarding experience that welcomes you into the Movie Machine and makes it simple to understand the overall process? We turn your story into a script, script into Director’s Notes (characters, locations, and props) + storyboard (every shot planned out in your film), and then your Director’s Notes form the visual foundation of your start frames AND each start frame becomes the literal start frame of each shot in your film.
How can we add guard rails to the Movie Machine that make it impossible (or rather extremely difficult) to make a mistake? You shouldn’t have to pay for your mistakes while learning. We need to build AI into our system that detects when you are making a change that may cause issues later on in your film and stop you.
How can we automatically perform quality control on your films and approve or flag specific shots or characters for review so you know when to move forward and when there may be something about your production to improve? We all want to make films we are proud of but until we see the final film, it’s hard to know how the look of your character or start frame will really appear in the final film. We can take this guesswork away and build AI that performs quality control every step of the way.
This is ambitious. This won’t be easy. But it will be a lot of fun for us to build it.
We are thinking of it as the Machine that runs the Movie Machine. Or as your AI Studio assistant. Still working on the name 😉.
In the meantime, for all of you who are deep inside the Movie Machine, I wanted to give you a free gift (even if you haven’t used the Movie Machine yet you can still claim it).
It’s called The Ultimate Prompting Guide for AI Filmmaking. And you can download it right here 👇

The guide gives you advanced tactics to filmmaking inside the Movie Machine and teaches you everything you need to know to work with AI like a pro.
But despite me giving you this free guide, I DON’T want you to read it.
We are baking all of these improvements into the Movie Machine, meaning NO ONE will need to know tons about filmmaking or AI to get great results from the Movie Machine.
The reason I’m giving you this now is because if you are already deep inside the Movie Machine, I’m confident some of these advanced tactics will be helpful to you.
In addition, we have the FREE Creatorwood book which teaches you how to build a business making movies with AI. You can download that HERE.
AND I even filmed a podcast with Mia Salsi, our Creative Director, all about her incredible insights on how to use the Movie Machine like a pro.
You can watch that here 👇
I’m really grateful for all your support.
We are on a mission to democratize filmmaking and it’s essential we hold ourselves to the highest possible standards in building the technology that you all use.
So I’d love to hear from you: What have been your biggest struggles using the Movie Machine? I want to know, and we want to help you.
And if you haven’t tried out the Movie Machine yet, you can do so here. Despite us on a mission to make it radically better in short order, we’re still proud of where it’s at today, and it truly is one of a kind platform to turn your story into a movie or show with AI.
In the meantime, don’t forget…
Storytellers Rule the World,
Michael and the Creatorwood Team
P.S. What started out as an experiment with VIP Production has now grown into a full-fledged business. If you’d like a team of talented AI Directors to produce your film for you without the technology hassle or you spending tons of time and coins, reply to this email with INTERESTED and we will share more information about how we can turn your story into a movie or show with AI and help you build a business around it. We’re actively working on building out a marketplace where anyone can become an AI Director and get hired to make movies and shows for others using AI 😊.
We charge a flat rate of $250 per finished minute, meaning with labor and AI costs included we can make a full episode of television for several thousand dollars 🤯. You can learn more and schedule a call with our team HERE.
